My Convocation Tale (Part II)

It's me, again. :P

tbh, I forgot about the things I should write for part two. Oh, maybe more about my own experience.

So I went into the hall, alone. My friends were already inside. The surrounding was full of people - turquoise robe with different colours of the hood, family members and friends were everywhere. The noises of people selling flower bouquet, parents lining up to enter the hall, and many more. Since I arrived right on time, I couldn't stroll in UIA to see more of the convocation settings. You know, the STANEX (I don't even know wth is that), CONVEST at Convest Hill which is far away from the ICC, the booths set up around the mosque's compound and what not.

The day was sunny and hot so I was noted by siblings that they're spending their time mostly in the mosque. Meanwhile, my parents are busy with selfie and videotaping the event - some kind of "live update" of my day to the other family members.

Back to the process, as I went inside through "Graduands Entrance", I saw hundreds of graduands queueing according to their seating number. There're batches of seats based on the rows and Pharmacy is behind Education whereby Laws is right at the front so they're going to get in the latest.  With my tiny feet in 2-inch pumps, I'm looking for some familiar faces - my batchmates. Staffs arranged us in order, checking our robes and names - making sure that we're organized.

Soon as the camera was ready for live streaming on YouTube, and the musical team was ready, the graduands procession entered the hall, two by two. By the end of the line, we separated to the left and right rows to find our seats. The sound of gamelan was so pleasing.

The waiting time was masyaAllah! Lama gila.

The ceremony started with Rector speech and followed by the conferment of the degrees of Laws. The Law students were so many that we can talk about ten different things but they haven't even got to half of the list yet!

Sometimes we made fun of the names, we looked at how they posed to the camera, we praised their graduation makeup and etc. So boring that everything became your attention.

But it only happened once. [unless you further study] So, just enjoy the moment. The very last moment with your colleagues. :)

When our turn came, we got so excited - no, aku je kot sebab sampai tertinggal multimedia card dekat seat ('',). Queueing before our names got called, my eyes couldn't be wild like they used to be. I'm focusing on the steps I'll take after the person before me walked. And that's why when the rector conferred my degree scroll, my eyes were looking at the different direction than her and the picture later looked awkward when I see them. Patutnya I cari mana photographer located, kan dah jadi gitu. huhu.

After the conferment, I managed to take pictures with my BFFs (dil and tim) and then all of us went the separate ways. All of us will be with our families on that day and since it was Monday, most of us were going back soon after the ceremony ended. Jumpa dari jauh je mungkin.

As I think about how the day went by, it took me far away in a dream. Once we're so busy collecting memories together, saying goodbye to quizzes and finals and then time was flying faster than the sound that suddenly you realized that we all went in separate ways, carving our future - alone.

to my batch Rx12, all the best in your future endeavors. May Allah ease. And to juniors, never miss a thing. Create your memories, live the moment. :)
